IIT Bombay Team Inspects Road Construction
The inspection focused on the quality of ongoing concrete road works being carried out for improved connectivity during the Kumbh. The team examined selected road stretches and assessed whether construction was being undertaken according to the required specifications.
Trimbak Road, an important route between Nashik and Trimbakeshwar, was among the stretches reviewed during the inspection.
Core-Cut Tests Check Concrete Thickness
As part of the technical assessment, core samples were extracted from the concrete roads to determine their actual thickness. The preliminary inspection indicated that the measured thickness and other initial technical parameters were within the prescribed standards.
The inspection is intended to help ensure that Kumbh-related road infrastructure meets the required construction and quality standards.
Drainage and Traffic Management Also Reviewed
The team also discussed issues associated with ongoing road construction, including rainwater drainage and traffic management.
With major road works progressing across Nashik ahead of the 2027 Kumbh, such technical inspections are being used to assess construction quality and address issues during the implementation stage.
