The Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela Authority is preparing a large-scale parking network for the 2027 Simhastha Kumbh. Around 1,500 hectares of land has been identified for proposed temporary parking facilities in Nashik and Trimbakeshwar, with a combined capacity of approximately three lakh vehicles.

72 Parking Lots Planned Across Nashik and Trimbakeshwar
The parking plan includes 46 lots in Nashik, covering around 888 hectares, and 26 lots in Trimbakeshwar, covering approximately 671 hectares.
The combined proposed capacity is around three lakh cars. During the Amrit Parvani period, private vehicles are expected to be stopped at parking facilities outside the main city areas. Pilgrims would then be transported towards the bathing areas through special bus services.
Private Landowners Invited
To create the temporary parking network, the Kumbh Mela Authority is looking for suitable private land. Applications are expected to be invited from interested landowners and eligible organisations.
Information regarding eligibility, the application process and other requirements is expected to be made available through the Nashik Divisional Commissioner's official website.
Nine Major Routes Considered
The authority is prioritising privately owned land located along major entry and traffic routes. Routes being considered include Gangapur Road, Peth Road, Dindori Road, Dhule Road, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Road, Pune Road, Kashyapi Dam Road, Mumbai Road and Jawhar Road.
The proposed locations are preliminary and may be modified according to traffic-management requirements.
Landowners to Manage Temporary Facilities
Selected landowners or eligible organisations will be responsible for developing, operating and maintaining the temporary parking facilities.
The authority will consider factors such as road connectivity, land area, access to major traffic routes, safety, ownership or legal possession and the practical feasibility of using the site for parking.
The parking strategy is part of the wider traffic-management preparations being undertaken for the expected movement of large numbers of pilgrims during the Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela 2027.
