Work has started on seven stretches of Nashik’s outer ring road project ahead of the 2027 Simhastha Kumbh Mela. The Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation (MSIDC) has started construction on sections where land acquisition has been completed.

Construction Begins Where Land Is Available
NTKMA Commissioner Shekhar Singh said MSIDC has started work on all sections where land acquisition has been completed. The remaining land acquisition is in its final stage.
According to officials, around 30% of the required land has already been acquired, while another 20% is expected to be secured soon. Seven contractors have been appointed for the seven stretches currently being taken up.
₹7,922 Crore Ring Road Project
The 66.15-km ring road project has an estimated cost of ₹7,922 crore. This includes around ₹3,659 crore for acquiring nearly 386 hectares of land across 25 villages and ₹4,262 crore for construction.
Around ₹550 crore is expected to be released to the district collectorate to speed up the remaining land acquisition process.
Target Before Kumbh 2027
Authorities have set March 2027 as the target for completing major Kumbh-related infrastructure projects. The ring road is also planned to be completed before the 2027 Simhastha Kumbh Mela.
Three independent agencies are monitoring the major projects for quality standards.
Other Road Project Update
The widening and asphalting of the 6.4-km Nashik-Pune highway stretch between Dwarka Circle and Datta Mandir may extend beyond the March 2027 deadline. The ₹221-crore project is in the tender stage, while nearly 90% of the required land has been secured. Authorities have said it will be completed before the Kumbh Mela.
