Five-Day Traffic Restriction Planned During Kumbh
Traffic authorities are preparing a special traffic management plan for Nashik Kumbh Mela 2027, with major restrictions expected during the Parvani period.
According to the plan discussed at a meeting with the Sinnar Industrial and Manufacturers Association (SIMA), vehicles travelling from Sinnar towards Nashik will face a complete restriction for five consecutive days during the Parvani. On the main bathing day, traffic from Sinnar towards Nashik will be stopped completely.
The measures are being planned to manage the large increase in traffic expected around Nashik during the major bathing occasions.

Traffic Plan to Cover Around 50 Days
The traffic department is preparing arrangements for approximately 50 days during the Kumbh period. The most significant restrictions will be imposed during the Parvani days when large numbers of pilgrims are expected to travel towards Nashik.
The traffic department discussed the plan with representatives of SIMA, including its president Sukumar Nair and secretary Baban Waje, to understand the possible impact on industrial activity in Sinnar MIDC.
Industries Asked to Plan Shipments Early
The five-day traffic restriction could affect the movement of raw materials and finished goods for companies operating in Sinnar MIDC.
Industrial units have therefore been advised to plan their supply and transportation requirements in advance. Companies have been asked to bring in essential raw materials and move finished goods out of their facilities at least five days before the Parvani period.
500 Traffic Police to Be Deployed
Around 500 traffic police personnel are expected to remain on duty for approximately 50 days to manage vehicle movement during the Kumbh period.
The arrangements will include deployment and accommodation of traffic personnel in Sinnar, along with other operational requirements.
Industry Seeks Special Passes
SIMA representatives have requested special passes for vehicles belonging to Sinnar MIDC companies. The proposal seeks passes for company cars and buses during the two days before and two days after the Parvani to reduce disruption to industrial operations.
Authorities are also collecting information from local companies about their daily vehicle requirements, including heavy vehicles and vehicles travelling through Nashik city, to help prepare the traffic plan.
The traffic restrictions are part of the wider crowd and mobility arrangements being prepared ahead of Nashik Kumbh Mela 2027, particularly for the busiest bathing occasions.
